Ascot Girls Walks West Highland Way & Raises £250

Whilst many of her peers are still contemplating how to wile away their long summer holidays, one 16-year-old from Ascot, Tanya Anand, has already headed for the highlands of Scotland for her very own summer adventure and raised £250 for the Trust along the way.

Together with two friends, Tanya, a pupil at St Georges School in Ascot, has just finished walking the West Highland Way, a distance of 154 km which took her from the northern outskirts of Glasgow to the foot of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis.

On her return, Tanya told us, “Sebastian’s story touched me and made me think about all the other children in the world living with cancer.  I think the holiday house is a wonderful idea and as I love walking and being outdoors I didn’t hesitate when I was invited to take up this challenge.  Doing something I enjoy so much and being able to help others at the same time has really been the perfect start to my summer.”
