Every year thousands of children in the UK are diagnosed with some form of life-limiting or life-threatening disease or condition. Many are born with congenital defects which may also affect their life expectancy. The demands of that diagnosis have a huge impact on the entire family, not just the patient. It invariably leads to a dramatic loss in family time together, emotional stress and fatigue affecting all members of the family and possible financial loss, as parents have to juggle work commitments with caring for a sick child.

By offering respite breaks, free of charge, in a purpose-built holiday house, we hope to provide families with a haven away from many of their daily trials – a place where they can just be an ordinary family, enjoying special times together.
